Saturday 9th May was another hugely successful bi-annual Cemetery & Crematorium Open Day showcasing the professionalism and Bereavement Services but in a different relaxed atmosphere and with access to all areas. The memorial gardens were looking immaculate thanks to the hard work of Idverde grounds team.

The weather was perfect, the diverse range of exhibitors were extremely engaging, and my staff, as ever, led the crematorium tours perfectly. We had just over 100 people spread across the crematorium tours and another 40 joining the Heritage walk led superbly by Sharon Mooney. It was also a pleasure to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress at the beginning of the day.

The wonderful comments left in our visitors book left us in no doubt that the extensive planning is fully justified. Death can still be quite a taboo subject. Being able to provide transparency and reassurance certainly in respect of the cremation process and the dignified handling of cremated remains dispels so many myths. Seeing first-hand the overwhelming positivity from those who joined us was truly rewarding.
